Poetry and Music

First, I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support with the introduction of my book. I am hopeful that The Thread of Life will touch many hearts.

Since several of you have purchased copies of the book, it is quite possible that you already received it in the mail and may have even read it. I wanted to offer you an optional mode of reading the book or even rereading the book.

Shortly, after writing The Thread of Life, I began thinking about the songs I would choose if I were to create a playlist of music that would coincide with it. For me, music touches my soul differently than the written word. It drifts into my mind, enfolding notes and emotion around my thoughts, heightening my response to a specific feeling or thought. As a result, when I listen to music and am contemplating some aspect with in my life, I tend to find that certain songs touch me more powerfully than others. So naturally for me, I began piecing together a play list of music that I feel contributes to the message and theme of The Thread of Life.

Below is the playlist I created to go along with the book. There are numerous songs that could replace each of these, but these are the songs that spoke to my heart. If you could create your own list of songs for the book, what would you choose?

Music for The Thread of Life:

Opening song prior to reading the Preface: Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken by Pink.

After reading the Preface: God Only Knows by for KING& COUNTRY.

After reading the section “Fear” and the corresponding “Bible Verses for ‘Fear’”: Rescue by Lauren Daigle.

After reading the section “Faith” and the corresponding “Bible Verses for ‘Faith’”: Fires by Jordan St. Cyr.

After reading the section “Forgiveness” and the corresponding “Bible Verses for ‘Forgiveness’”: Clean by Natalie Grant.

After reading the section “Hope” and the corresponding “Bible Verses for ‘Hope’”: Scars by I AM THEY.

Finally, after reading Psalm 23: I Have This Hope by Tenth Avenue North.

For those of you that listen to these songs while reading the book, what do you think? Would you have picked a different song for a particular section? Why?

Thank you all for your continued support, feedback on the book, and prayers that The Thread of Life will touch hearts and lead to healing for those who need it.
