“My dear Family, Friends and Readers,
Many of you know that my book, The Thread of Life, was published this past year through Resource Publications, an imprint of Wipf and Stock Publisher.
This inspirational story about overcoming childhood trauma through faith, forgiveness and hope has provided healing and understanding to several of its readers. It also caught the eye of Mike Morrell, the founder of Speakeasy (an online book-reviewing community). He offered me an exclusive invitation to market this book through a Speakeasy Campaign.
You might be wondering what a "Speakeasy Campaign" is. According to Mike Morrell, the founder of this campaign, "It's an 1100-member strong book reviewing community that enjoys bold works by innovative faith and culture voices - and likes telling their readers about them." Speakeasy
By marketing The Thread of Life through a Speakeasy Campaign, the book will reach a much wider audience than I can reach on my own. As a result, it will have the opportunity to touch more lives with its message of faith, forgiveness and hope.
This brings me to why I am fundraising through GoFundMe; I am seeking help raising the Speakeasy Campaign fee of $2,500.00. Unfortunately, I cannot cover this cost alone, but I believe with all my heart that it is God’s will for this book to be promoted to a much wider audience. I do not know the plans Jesus has for this book, but I know He has continually urged me to seek help in acquiring the funds needed for the Speakeasy marketing campaign. In Jeremiah 29: 11, the bible states, “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jesus has plans for this book, and I have been dragging my feet in following his will.
So how will the Speakeasy Campaign market this book:
• A book summary will appear on the Speakeasy site, which is a 1000+ strong network of members and visitors.
• The book will be reviewed by 40 top-rated bloggers and 10 podcast hosts.
• The book will be highlighted on Mike Morrell 's website (15,000+ subscribers).
Overall, the book will receive a great deal of exposure and hopefully be made more accessible to readers who will benefit from its message.
Furthermore, all proceeds generated from the book will be donated to Sarah's Home (a home for girls rescued from the sex trade).
