Devotional vs Self-Help Book?

I have been asked several times recently, how my book compares to other books already on the market. As a result, I thought I should address this here, as well.

From my research endeavors, I have not found a book that is specifically similar to this one. There are numerous books about how to find healing after childhood sexual abuse and molestation from both Christian and secular authors, inspirational autobiographies of individuals who overcame such experiences, and devotionals about how to grow closer to Jesus as one heals from these experiences. Furthermore, works of poetry regarding this topic seem to be limited to anthologies from numerous writers or multiple poems on the subject by one poet with little to no scripture included. This book is not a step by step, self-help book or an anthology of poems. If anything, I view it more as a devotional; a tool to help an individual face one’s fears through faith, learn to forgive with the help of Jesus, and realize that hope can prevail with in one’s life. It reads more like a movie reel depicting Mary’s story with bible versus interspersed throughout while providing a path to hope.

Please feel free to email me with any questions you have regarding my book, The Thread of Life. I hope the book touches your heart. May the Lord bless you and fill you with peace.
